Formed from a wide array of already established bands, Halo of Snakes came together under the direction of Josh Alvarez who, among other things, was initially looking to start an all-Philipino Hardcore band. When that didn’t pan out Alvarez began recruiting members from the Philadelphia music scene. What resulted is the explosive powerhouse Halo of Snakes. Their debut release on Harvcore proved to be a brutal exercise in cathartic madness. Heavy, noisy, visceral and shredding; it was voted 3rd in the Top 10 Best Records of 2009 by the Philadelphia Indie Music Examiner
